5 WRISTBANDS AND 1 STICKER This is a very rare lot from a one time event that happened 6/20/2007. As a promotion for the release of their last record ICKY THUMP, The White Stripes opened a pop up store at the site of the old Tower Records location on Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles, CA. The store was only open a day or two and ended in a show at the location by THE WHITE STRIPES. The wristbands are an unused numbered page of wristbands given to fans for admission to the show. The promotional only sticker for the album was available at the store too. White Stripes to Bring Life Back to Tower Sunset Show Date: June 20, 2007 Show Description: In a brilliant melding of marketing genius and a tip of the hat to a bittersweet time in LA rock history, the White Stripes performed an intimate show at the location formerly known as the Tower Records on Sunset. Transforming it to Icky Thump Records (named after their cd released 6/19/2007) the duo performed at the now-closed-and-shuttered West Hollywood landmark for the benefit of the first 200 fans who buy the disc at the pop up "store". From an email sent to members of the White Stripes fan club: The White Stripes will be performing a very special show in West Hollywood, CA on June 20th. The band will play a live show for fans at a specially constructed "Icky Thump Records" store on Sunset Boulevard.
The location of Icky Thump Records is the site of the former Tower Records flagship store at 8801 W. Sunset Blvd. Tickets for this unique performance will be made available to the first 200 fans who purchase the album at this store, which opened at midnight on Monday, June 18th 2007. Tickets are limited and will be given on a first come, first served basis. A handful of tickets will also be available to listeners of KROQ radio from Friday, June 15 - Sunday, June 17th.
